In 2026, nail art is getting a maximalist makeover—at least, if you’re looking to the most in-demand manicurists and celebs for inspiration. Take rhinestone nails, for example: This breakout trend is pushing the boundaries of traditional nail art with opulent 3D details, and we’re absolutely here for it.
We’ve been dreaming of rhinestone sets since Sabrina Carpenter shut down the 2025 VMAs with a rainbow-studded French mani. And we’re not alone: “This year classic French tips will get a 2026 upgrade with chrome finishes and rhinestone details, adding a modern edge to a timeless manicure,” predicts Juli Russell, nail expert and Sally Beauty brand ambassador.
But when it comes to trending rhinestone nails, the bedazzled French is only the tip (no pun intended) of the iceberg. Nail gems can accentuate any manicure look, and they work particularly well with durable BIAB treatments. Whether you’re adding a hint of sparkle to a milky nude base, or covering your nails in jewels of every shape and color, “The goal is intentional excess,” Russell says. “We’re looking at nails that feel curated, not cluttered.”
